Support Details

General iframe accessibility is well supported across all major browser and screen reader combinations. Interact with frame's contents as you normally would in your screen reader. Readers that don't use a screen reader can toggle the visibility of the chart by clicking the visibly rendered button.

This technique (or the standard link inside figcaption technique) could be used as a direct replacement when upgrading exist content using longdesc. The iframe approach is also more in line with universal design principles in that it is scriptable to show the alternative frame contents to sighted users upon request, without the need for assistive technology.
